A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE DISCONNECTION OF UTILITIES FOR ANY DELINQUENT ELECTRICAL, WATER, OR SEWER ACCOUNTS OF THE TOWN OF HOLLY, COLORADO
WHEREAS, delinquent accounts are those paid on or after the 21st of each month. An account that is deemed to be disconnected is one that is past due for more than one month. Therefore, if the utility bill is not paid in full by the 25th of the second month, the customer will be considered for a utility disconnect. If the past due date of the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday, payment must be received at the Town of Holly Clerk’s office or in the night drop by 9:00 A.M. on the following business day. NOTE: DO NOT PUT CASH IN THE NIGHT DROP BOX. WE WILL NOT GUARANTEE IT.
WHEREAS, customer accounts considered for disconnects will receive a doorhanger on their front door of the listed property by 4:00 P.M. on the first business day prior to the 20th day of the month. The doorhanger will state the account number, service address, and the balance required. The date the balance is due will be included on the doorhanger. If the balance is not paid by 9:00 A.M. on the specified date, the customer will be disconnected.
WHEREAS, to reinstate the customer utility account, the past due balance must be brought to current status, and a reconnect fee, as stated on the doorhanger, must be paid before 3:00 P.M. in order to reconnect the utilities the same day. Otherwise, if payment is made after 3:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday, the reconnect will be on the following day. If payment is made after 3:00 P.M. on Friday, the reconnect will be on the following Monday. If the Town of Holly does not currently hold utility deposits on the account, deposits may be required again before reconnecting the utilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF HOLLY, COLORADO THAT the Board of Trustees of the Town of Holly hereby adopts the Town of Holly Disconnect Policy as stated above, and incorporates herein by this reference. Resolution 2023-3 shall become effective on October 1, 2023.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 2ND DAY OF AUGUST, 2023.
